    I've spent a very frustrating 2 hours this morning trying to use an existing course for my family outing today.  The crs and tcx exported files aren't accepted by anything I have (Edge305, MotionBased, etc.).  Examining the .crs file, there's garbage in it:

    <Trackpoint><Time>2008-01-25T19:59:53-06:00</Time><Position><LatitudeDegrees>-37.86968721663428</LatitudeDegrees><LongitudeDegrees>145.22786378860474</LongitudeDegrees></Position>open failed! : /data/ele-downloaded/S38E145.hgt<br><AltitudeMeters>0</AltitudeMeters></Trackpoint>

    This "open failed!" is repeated throughout the file.

    I tried creating a brand new course from scratch and get the same thing.

    Checking further, if I select "Display Elevation" in the map settings, this "Open Failed!" message apears below the Google map.

    Have you tried exporting it as a gpx file?

    Hi Dir-

     Sorry for the problem, I'll work on getting a fix out today.  Can you post a link to the route that exibits this issue so I an confirm the fix?

    Dir-

    I believe I've fixed this issue.  The problem is that our elevation database didn't have data for some of the points in your route, and we had a bug that caused this to create the incorrect format file.  Based on your feedback I was able to track this down and fix.  I found a route in your public profile that didn't work before the fix, and does now, so I hope this helps.

    i have exactly the same problem for all my routes, most of which are public. can you please check it out? thanks!

    Actually - i just checked other routes, at random, and i get the same result (very small files that no other app can read). i am using latest Firefox on a W2K machine with 1GB of RAM, and this has worked very well in the past.

     Elevation displays correctly below the map.

    Here's a sample of the file i get when i try to download:

    Hi alyoshav-

    I just tested this on your  "Gourdes 2" route, and was able to successfully import a tcx into training center on my computer.  Have you ever successfully imported a tcx file into training center from any source?

    Thanks, jeff.

    You are right, Gourdes2 imports fine.

    But try Mt. Diablo Loop:

    http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/ca/walnut-creek/21430130

    this is what the resulting file contains:

    <TrainingCenterDatabase xmlns="http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/TrainingCenterDatabase/v2" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/TrainingCenterDatabase/v2 http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/TrainingCenterDatabasev2.xsd">

                            <DistanceMeters>0</DistanceMeters>
                            <BeginPosition>
                                <LatitudeDegrees></LatitudeDegrees><LongitudeDegrees></LongitudeDegrees>                        </BeginPosition>

                                <LatitudeDegrees></LatitudeDegrees><LongitudeDegrees></LongitudeDegrees>                        </EndPosition>
                            <Intensity>
                                Active
                            </Intensity>
                            <Cadence>

                    </Course>

            </Courses>
    </TrainingCenterDatabase>

    when i import it into TC, i get invalid file error.

    I have been importing files into TC for many months now, ever since you introduced "follow the roads" feature.

    Love the site, BTW!

    I am having trouble loading a Garmin file because all the elevation data is missing.  I am trying to create the 2007 IM Brazil bike course so I can create a Computrainer 3dc file.

    The link for my map is: http://www.mapmytri.com/ride/brazil/florianopolis/27438384

    Any thoughts as to what I am doing wrong.  I tried creating just a very short map to see if any elevation data appeared at the bottom but nothing ever did.

    I figured out the problem.  There isn't any topo information for Brazil.  It appears Google uses USGS topo maps and they don't exist for Florianopolis Brazil - duh!!!

    I think there may be a systemic problem someplace.  I tried to generate a CRS and TCX file for http://www.mapmyrun.com/route/united-states/ut/salt-lake-city/122916375 without success.  In both cases I just get a tiny file that Garmin's TC says is invalid.

    I am trying to import the following route: http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/sc/greenville/349164606

    I get an invalid file error.  I tried both .crs and .trx file types... same error.  The files are about 230k in size.

    Garmin Training Center version: 3.3.2

    Browser: Firefox 2.0.0.12

    Hi,

    I am having a similar problem with this route

    http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-kingdom/near-marlow/116356758

    The resulting crs file has not track points in it
