Can anyone help here. After down loading the "plug - Garmin Communincator" and installing it, you would have thought there would be no problems.

Once you select the "import from garmin gps device", you get the screen which tell you that it's looking for the divice. Thats all. Nothing happens for all time and eternity. Yes, I've done the test page and my device is picked up with serail number.

The bottom left hand coner of the web page shows and error on the page. However when you read what the error is you are informed that its waiting for the devise. (very funny but a usefull as a hat full of poo)

Anyone had this same error and nows how to corrrect it.

I would like to help you your problems importing.  Are you using the new route engine at http://www.mapmyride.com/create_new ?  What browser are you using?

    Jeff,

Thanks for the info. I've gone on to the website you suggested and it can find my new device, but tells me there is nothing on it. Can see all three rides in G.T. Centre. Using Internet Explorer 7

    Andrew,

Thanks as well. had a look and will post something simular on Frank's blog.

you need to convert the garmin 405's .tcx file to a .gpx that mapmyrun can import.  Hopefully mapmyrun.com will make a new import feature soon!

For now, feel free to use my converter:

    www.michaelrenz.com/tcx/

Just export your run (.tcx file) from Garmin Training Center, and upload it to the website, and it'll convert it and prompt you to save a new .gpx file.

Hi I received my Forerunner 405 on Christmas day. Other than through a third party application, I cannot import data into my MMR from my Forerunner 405. The MMR says it supports Garmin Devices, I have tried to use their application, but keeping getting an error message

"Internet Explorer Cannot open the Internet Site http://www.mapmyrun.com/create_new."

Does anyone know if MMR or Garmin will support "import of data from Forerunner 405 to MMR"
