by: wightboi - Aug 31 2008, 1:44PM howdy!I was just about to set a milage goal for September - I just started a new job so until October i'm only able to ride on Saturdays so for september i'm going to shoot for 200 miles... Let me know how many miles you are going to try to accomplish and once I here from everyone i'll set the goal :)PS: If you set up rides in advance in your training log and don't end up riding them, or ride more/less miles then you had posted, please make sure to go back into that ride and delete it, don't just leave it up and add another ride - it throws off the goal meter so we never really know if we're on track or notThanks ya'll!PS: Nice work J-Bird!!!

by: wightboi - Aug 9 2008, 6:37AM Sometimes when mapping a route the mapping software will choose to gobeyond the point you have selected, then track back... the notes willthen instruct you to go beyond that point, turn around and go backmaking what might have once been intended to be a Left turn, now aRight turn - this is obviously a bug... i'm typing this to encourageeveryone to go through the notes while you are mapping you're route(you can click "undo" and choose a different point in the same areathat does not activate this bug) as to avoid confusion, or getting lost(like I did)

by: wightboi - Aug 2 2008, 6:28PM Good afternoon!
I set the mileage goal for this group at 800 miles - I kept it
pretty conservative for the first month to see how things pan out - I
personally am going to try to be responsible for 300 of those miles.
To check the progress of the group just click on the "goals" tab.
******** MAKE SURE YOU LOG YOUR RIDES! ********
I'm going to check with a local bike shop and see if he will sponsor
our monthly challenges and offer some kind of "incentive" to help
motivate us - no promises of course, but it's worth a shot :)
Any questions or suggestions are always encouraged :)
Let's Ride!

by: wightboi - Aug 1 2008, 8:52PM I just wanted to say WELCOME!
J-Bird, glad to see you on here man - where is the little lady? :)
Master Kakin, all the way from Indiana, miss you brother!
Monk, my beautiful wife, who probably doesn't even know she's a part of this group... LOL
sbr123 - friend from team zen - west siiiiiiiide!
Anywho, track your miles, and if at all possible PLEASE make your training log public - i use this to see how much riding is going on and i can set a monthly goal - and maybe harass you once in a while :P

by: wightboi - Aug 1 2008, 8:24PM I'm trying to figure out a "safe" ride out to the end of the white tanks and back (from your house) - Olive and Northern are not "bike friendly" roads... but it is a fun ride, especially the long ascent into the park and a couple rollers once you're through the gate

by: sbr123 - Aug 1 2008, 12:51PM Hello, This is Daniel from Team Zen. Thanks for the info, I will join this team.
I enjoy rolling hills or mountainous rides myself, but like you said, we live in the desert so, rolling is about as good as it gets. I look forward to having someone else to cycle with.

by: wightboi - Jul 24 2008, 7:18PM I enjoy 30 - 50 mile rides averaging between 16 - 18 mph - rolling hills if possible, but not mandatory (we do live in a desert... hehe)
