Hike Description
Intended Night Hike for Friday Evening. Leave Wasdale head NT campsite over style on route to Lingmell, follow path until you reach NT monument here you should veer of to your right and take route that follows the side of Lingmell Coll (stream). It is well worth spending time at various places along the way as the Coll contains so many scenic spots to rest, fill water and photograph with its stunning rocks bleached white from the sun! Follow the path until you reach a ford crossing where the Coll splits in two directions, again here veer to the right here. The path becomes stone steps here all the way to the basin where we can stop, rest, photograph and wait for darkness. Last time we were here we saw some one camping to the right of where we stopped right under the rockface of scafell Pike! We also ran into at least 25 people doing the 3 and even crazier 4 Peaks Challenge!

On the descent down follow the same path until you cross the ford, not long after this you take a right over the lower ridge of Lingmell, this path is followed all the way until you reach a footbridge over Lingmell Beck. Cross the field until you reach the road. Here there are two stiles, go over one and then the other which heads back to the Beck and the NT campsite. Beer time...
