Run Description
A very, very hard run through the steepest inclines of urban Portland, Maine. This run starts with an easy jaunt at sea level and then begins a climb to Munjoy Hill, the highest point in town. Down again to near sea level and then two short and steep hills up Fox Street up to North Street. After a mile or so of descent and flats of Marginal Way and Deering, the run rises to Maine Medical Center on the very steep Deering Road. The final assault is after a downhill and 1.5 mile flat run (if not windy) along commercial street to the infamous Clark Street. This is probably the steepest grade street in Portland. Mercifully, there is about a .75 mile downhill coast to the Port Harbor Hotel. This run is called 4B becuase there are 4 hills and each is quite the "bi$ch."
