I am fortunate to live in the beautiful state of Utah where there are many places to run and hike, and the air is crisp and cool in the mornings. I am in my fifties and started to run in February 2008 when my health coach at work told me my body fat was 32. I only weighed 128 at 5'5 I had no idea that my body fat would be so out of control! The nurse said Well it just creeps up when you get older! I work in a pharmacy as a tech and my pharmacist and I decieded to have a contest to see who could reduce their bodyfat and cholestrol. I heard running was good so I started and could not even do 1/2 mile. But I kept with it even in the snowstorms.Now I can run 5 miles. I saw the Ogden 5k comming up and payed the money so I would be commited! I did a 5k on 5/10/08 and finished in 29:51! I am not fast-but I can work on that. My bodyfat is down to 28 I have lost 8lbs, 2 inches off my wasit, got some pretty shaply legs and most important I feel so great I can hardly believe it! I am worth it to spend the time on myself and do something that is so fulfilling!
I am addicted-I am a runner!
